Does the client mood sway readings?

Here are some of the opinions I gathered on this matter, over time :

"If someone is rude or unfriendly, or snaps at me in general, I won't do the reading with them at that time. I might suggest coming back when they are not in an angry mood. It's happened to me a couple of times. I can't work inside of a nasty vibe."

"A huge part of how I read is empathy so I cannot really 'shut out' the client's mood.  With LOTS of pratice I've learned how to tell what is their energy and what is other people's.  But the more emotional they are the more difficult it is. This is especially true of 'cheating' readings where the people involved are very often VERY hurt and VERY angry."

"I have taken to using enhancing crystals to help make MY energy be able to tell the client's emotional output within my own sphere.  Sort of the equivallent of an energy 'shut up so I can think'. It helps a lot and almost always helps the client to calm down."

"I have found that what helps them calm down is to tell them that I sense a lot of disturbed emotion and that I need to help them relax before I proceed.  Then I pull that negative or painful energy away from them and release it in to the universe so that they and I can both look at things more objectively."

"Some times I just need them to breathe before we begin, I can usually pick if they are anxious or angry or stressed etc.. I always tell them the truth.. that the reading will be clearer if they are calm in energy and open to what comes through.. they usually listen.. I can usually tell the clients who are not opened to change when they barge in chat and expect a one lined answer... I tell them that it doesnt work that way."

"When I'm reading someone who's extremely angry or upset it sometimes feels like I'm trying to see in a sandstorm. It's like I'm being pelted with hurt, anger, frustration and particularly intense subconscious thoughts about what a caller wishes they'd said, or want to say, or want to do… in response to what has upset them. It's not directed at me, but it can still clutter up my psychic vision big time!"

"What do you think? As a clairsentient I have to agree and instead of telling the client that I have no connection and shut the line of communication, I explain what I sense is going through with her/him and offer healing. If they are just after a straight reading I recommend a colleague who is not an empath."
